We have already mentioned our need for a piece of freehold land together with a building program. This is becoming urgent as we have only one year of our lease left, and landlord wants to use the land after this time for his children to build schools and houses for the children of COSO orphanage. We are hoping to receive some help with this project from generosity donations from the world. But it is a big adventure, and we need to raise money ourselves in order for matching it.
At present we have COSO’s souvenir shop at the orphanage for 40 children between the ages of 2 and 17. Five of these children are orphaned, 17 children have only one living parent who is unable for reasons of illness or extreme poverty to provide any care, and 28 of our children have parents who are also unable to use care for them because of illness or grinding poverty. Life is very hard if a parent cannot find any from of paid work.
Each child eats three meals a day, which cost about $2 per child, and we are very hard to find self-support for feeding the children of the orphanage. In addition, we need to clothe them with both school uniforms and play clothes, providing shoes, mosquito nets. We must have medical and school supplies, detergent, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and of course we need petrol for the tuk-tuk that provides them to school. The electricity are necessary for water, light and computers. In January, 2012 we have to move to new site of land that we was planning to buy it. In the future we have hard a project plan for building schools, houses for the children, medical center, souvenir shop, office, water tank, toilets, staff accommodation and farmer project (fishes, chickens and vegetables) ,..etc.
From here as on December 24th , 2011, we have to find $ 20, 895 USD in order for purchasing the orphanage's land. In agreement for purchasing the land is four steps, and every three months need to deposit $ 6, 965 USD until the end of December 24th, 2012. Donations in cash or any kind are very much appreciated and however small is the gift, it help us in our daily struggle to provide the daily basic need for 40 children and 10 staffs.
